Holiday magic with hundreds of lights, appropriate decorations and entertainment programs will rule Cres from December 2 to 31, 2023, and a special surprise awaits us on December 29, when Neno Belan and Fiumens will perform.
A rich program of events Advent in Cres, which is organized by the City of Cres and TZG Cres, brings many surprises again this year thanks to the large turnout of Cres associations, institutions, clubs, restaurateurs, individuals and others who will do their best to make Advent in Cres shine with a special holiday glow. With an appropriate catering offer and music program, programs for the youngest are also particularly attractive who will hang out with the elves, St. Nicholas, Santa Claus and Santa Claus, but also have the opportunity to participate in numerous shows and workshops, during which they will decorate Christmas cakes or make Christmas balls from wool.

The novelty of this year's Advent in Cres is the opening of a new location in Palača Moise, which will dominate the program "Christmas magic in the Palace", primarily intended for the youngest, but also for everyone else who loves the holidays ahead. In the palace, the youngest will hang out with the elves, Santa Claus and Santa Claus on weekends, but also take part in workshops on felting wool balls or decorating Christmas cookies.
Advent in Cres will start on Saturday, December 2 at 19 p.m when the mayor Marin Gregorović and the guardian of the Monastery of St. Friars in Cres, Friar Vitomir Glavaš lit the first Advent candle on the main town square. The party continues on the Promenade on April 20, where Duško Jeličić Dula and Bonaca will perform from 20 p.m.

Girice Kindergarten is preparing a cycle of workshops for children and parents that will be held on November 30, December 7 and December 11, as well as a play for children "New Year's Eve" which will be held on December 14. In the organization of the Girica Kindergarten, special Christmas events will be held for all kindergarten groups. The first weekend of Advent is also reserved for a humanitarian mini-football tournament organized by DPH Cres.
Saint Nicholas will arrive in Cres on Wednesday, December 6 at 18 p.m., and he will hang out with children and give them sweets on the main town square.
On Saturday, December 9, as part of Advent on the promenade, ŠRD Parangal prepares a traditional mussel buzara, and the musical part will be performed by the Christmas Jazz Trio consisting of Franjo Črnjarić (saxophone), Jelena Brnelić (vocals) and Filip Flego (guitar). In the morning, the show "Muscle in the Land of Physics" will be held in Moise Palace.
On the feast of St. Lucia, on December 13, the Santa Lucia restaurant is preparing a special program with live music and game stew.
It will be held on Friday, December 15, starting at 19:30 p.m "Advent training for everyone" organized by SRK Samo Pozitiva. Saturday, December 16, as part of Advent on the Promenade, from 10 a.m. to 13 p.m., the Advent shop will be held, where local producers will be presented and original gifts for the pine tree will be offered, while a workshop for children will be held at 11 a.m. "Margaret's Little School of Sweets". Afternoon hours are reserved for the program of the Cres Italian Community, which will prepare food on the promenade traditional dishes of the island of Cres, while the group "Macaklini" is in charge of the musical part.
Traditional Christmas Market organized by Frane Petrić Elementary School from Cres, will be held on December 20 from 16 to 19 p.m.
A basketball spectacle awaits us on Friday, December 22 "Christmas basket" organized by the Cres Basketball Club starting at 16 p.m., while the Dino Antonić Trio will perform on the promenade from 19 p.m. ŠRD Parangal is organizing "Christmas fishing for children and adults" on Saturday, December 23.
On the feast of St. St. Stephen, December 26 in the Church of St. Mary the Great, starting at 19 p.m., a traditional ceremony will be held Christmas concert Teha flaps.
