Diljem Požega-Slavonia County, until the end of this year and the beginning of next year, numerous Advent events are held. Advents with a rich and varied program bring the spirit of the holidays, and as usual, the youngest look forward to them the most. But there is no shortage of content for all generations. Below, read an overview of Advent events in Zlatna Slavonia.
Advent in Požega
Advent in Požega will last for a month, the central part of which will be held in the area behind the Town Hall, where the ice rink is also located. Programs are held at several other locations in the city, and the Christmas Fair will be held from December 19 to 21 in the Promenade Zone. Numerous concerts have been announced, and the good fun will reach its peak on December 31, when the New Year's Eve will be held with the Libretto Band. But before the big celebration, the Children's New Year's Eve will be held, and a day earlier even the New Year's Eve for the dogs of the Sirius Animal Protection Association.
Among the other interesting things in the program, let's highlight the staging of the live nativity scene on December 27, when the Christmas concert will be held in the Cathedral and the lighting of candles on the Advent wreath on the Square of St. Teresa of Avila. During Advent in Požega, great attention will certainly be attracted by the skating rink, which will be open until January 7, 2025. Working hours are from 10 a.m. to 21 p.m. on weekdays, and from 10 a.m. to 22 p.m. on weekends, with special hours on holidays. You can skate for only 1 euro.
Advent in Kutjevo
The event, filled with holiday spirit and joy, brings unforgettable moments for all generations. This special event, which brings together numerous local partners, brings the magic of togetherness ahead of the most beautiful time of the year. The programs will be held in several locations, and will last until December 22, when "Close your eyes and wish - the Christmas concert of the Kutjevac tambourine orchestra" will take place. Advent candles are lit every Saturday on Graševina Square, and on Sunday, December 15, the opening of the ice rink at the elementary school playground of Zdenko Turković is scheduled with the arrival of Santa Claus, the distribution of Christmas presents and numerous activities.

The smells of Christmas in Lipik
Throughout December, entertainment programs, performances, exhibitions and presentations are held in Lipik. During the event, visitors have a unique opportunity to ride through Lipik with the tourist train Lipik Express and the advent carriage of the Lipik State Stud, enjoy the creations of caterers and take a walk in the winter park.
The Christmas fair is held on December 14 at Trg hrvatski branitelja, with an offer of local products, an entertainment program and carriage rides. The program also includes the Magical Playroom of the Elves - December 23 and the Christmas mini-football tournament from December 17 to 28, and holiday musical evenings and parties throughout December. The New Year 2025 is welcomed with a tambura band and fireworks, and on the same day in the afternoon there will also be a Children's New Year's Eve.
Advent in Pakrac
We are in the second week of Advent in Pakrac, from which we can single out the Christmas Fair that will be held tomorrow, Friday, December 13, in the central town square of Ban Jelačić, with a rich and interesting program. A day later, on Saturday, the Christmas Fair will be held in Prekopakra. Advent candles in Pakrac are lit every Saturday at the time of Advent on Ban J. Jelačić Square and in the courtyard of the Parish Church of St. Mary Magdalene.
Let's also say that as part of the Advent program in Pakrac, the Children's New Year's Eve was announced for December 31 on the city promenade in front of the Tourist Board office, and at midnight the women and men of Pakrac will usher in the year 2025 with spectacular midnight New Year's fireworks.
Advent in Bećar's shor
The unique Advent in Bećar's shor in Pleternica allows a return to the past in the traditional Slavonic spirit with a rich cultural and entertainment program with an irresistible food and wine offer. Thus, every Saturday, after the lighting of the Advent candles on Bećarca Square, visitors are entertained by tambourine players in the Bećarski šor with mulled wine, brandy, fritters... The Christmas fair will again this year, on December 21st, in the Advent šor, bring together local producers, and New Year's Eve with Šim Jovanovac, will take place on Trg Bećarca.
The skating rink in Pleternica will be open until January 7, 2025. Opening hours until December 20 are every Saturday and Sunday from 17 to 21 p.m., and from December 21 the rink will be open every day, also from 17 to 21 p.m.
Nina's Magical Shhhuma
The fourth season of Nina's Magical Shhhuma Advent, which takes place in Aquapark Shhhuma in Velika, has started. This year as well, you can expect a unique Advent decoration, a children's entertainment zone and a superb music program with numerous local and regional performers. Every Sunday in December, from 17 p.m. to 20 p.m., Santa Claus walks in the most magical Shhhuma, handing out presents and bringing joy to every corner, and the most special moment of the year... Santa's carriage welcome is on December 24, 2024 at 14 p.m.
More than 20 Advent houses, a rich gastronomic offer, an ice rink, a Christmas train, a carousel and lots of fun for children await you in Nina's Magical Shhhuma, as well as New Year's Eve at noon, and the program lasts until January 6, 2025.
There are still less than two weeks until Christmas, which means that you have plenty of time to plan your visit to Požega-Slavonia County, where there will be no shortage of entertainment this winter either.
