The Zagreb County Tourist Board has announced the start of applications for the annual "Rose of Zagreb County" award, which recognizes the best in tourism - those who, with their work, innovation and dedication, shape the identity of the region and raise the bar for the quality of the tourist offer.
This award is not only a symbol of success, but also a strong incentive for further development and improvement of tourism, with a special emphasis on sustainability, creativity and authenticity. Those who contribute to enriching the visitor experience, creating competitive products and services and promoting the values of Zagreb County on the tourist map of Europe are awarded, notes the Zagreb County Tourist Board.
Applications are open until April 10, 2025., and the opportunity to participate is open to legal entities and individuals from the private and public sectors who have implemented projects, products or activities of importance for the development of tourism in Zagreb County in the past year.
Award categories – excellence in various tourism segments
The award is given in eight categories, where innovation, quality, sustainability and long-term impact on the tourist offer are evaluated.
- Sustainable tourism – recognition for projects and initiatives that promote environmental sustainability, responsible use of resources and the preservation of natural and cultural resources.
- Innovative tourism products and services – an award for unique, original concepts that enrich the destination's offering and attract visitors in a new way.
- Eno-gastro tourism – recognizing the best wine and gastronomic experiences that contribute to the recognition and attractiveness of the region.
- Excellence in accommodation – an award for top-notch hotel, rural and private accommodation facilities that offer a high level of hospitality, authenticity and sustainability.
- Exceptional tourism workers – recognition for individuals who, with their professionalism, knowledge and dedication, make the tourist offer of higher quality and unforgettable for guests.
- Socially responsible entrepreneurship – an award for entrepreneurs and companies that promote social responsibility, sustainability and ethics through their business.
- Digital innovation in tourism - giving recognition to the best digital solutions, campaigns and tools that contribute to the development and promotion of tourism.
- Best event/ manifestation – award for tourist events, festivals and events that attract visitors and enrich the cultural and tourist offer of the county.
An expert committee composed of eminent tourism experts and media representatives will evaluate the submitted projects according to the criteria of uniqueness, quality of implementation, achieved results and long-term impact.

Applications are submitted via an online form available on the official website of the Zagreb County Tourist Board. The regulations for the award are published on the website of the Zagreb County Tourist Board.
The deadline for submissions is April 10, 2025. All submitted projects will be analyzed in detail, and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony.
With this project, the Zagreb County Tourist Board wants to highlight and reward the best examples of excellence in tourism, encourage innovation and sustainability, and further strengthen the county's position as an attractive and competitive tourist destination.
