U Friday, August 25, starting at 20 p.m, at the very end of the Vela Riva, there will be a concert by award-winning Croatian musician, world-renowned jazz and ethno guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, arranger and composer Zoran Majstorović.
In cooperation with the JazzIstra Orchestra from Pula, Majstorović released the album Musical Migrations, which includes six compositions created during 2020, and it is about his original music in which he combines his multi-instrumentalism with the sound of a jazz orchestra. The compositions were created under the influence of American jazz and traditional music from various parts of the world, and Majstorović combines musical motifs and elements of different world cultures in them. Performing such music in a trio formation certainly represents a challenge for musicians, and it takes the audience on a musical journey around the world. In a wonderful, intimate setting with a magical view of Baška, alongside Majstorović, Simone Lanzi on double bass and Mathias Butul on drums will perform.

Promotion of the book "Schmarrn" by the writer Laura Marchig from Rijeka
31.8.2023. (Thursday) / 19:30 h / Jurandvor, refectory of the complex of St. Lucius
In the wonderful surroundings of the complex of St. Lucia in Thursday, 31.08., will be held musical-stage reading and promotion of the book "Schmarrn" by the writer Laura Marchig from Rijeka, performed by the actress Dunja Sepčić and the author herself.
It is a bilingual, Italian-Croatian "family cookbook" described as an amazing book, which can be seen as a novel, but it is also a diary and a dialogue. The book is also a kind of search for family roots, written very lyrically, with numerous descriptions, and it also brings a symbiosis of poetry and prose, where we find poetic works dedicated to the author's many friends and fellow poets and writers. The book "Schmarrn", dedicated to his son Martin, was a great success and was presented at several festivals in Croatia and Italy. The musical and stage reading "How to properly wash glasses" refers to the recipe that was left to the author of the book, Laura Marchig, by academician Branko Fučić, a well-known Croatian art historian and a leading expert and promoter of the Glagolitic heritage.
Join the promotion of this unique book at a wonderful historical site and enjoy the staged reading that will be performed for the first time at the location of the archaeological complex of St. Lucia, where the Bašćanska tablet was discovered.
