A new section of Croatian opens this weekend Camino – Camino Banovina, which will follow the paths of Croatian pilgrims who have been passing through this region since the 13th century, along the paths of St. According to Jakov Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
During two days, the participants of Camina banovina will walk from Siska via Petrinja to Prnjavor Čuntićki, revealing a special "The Camino Experience".
Along with the organized walking along the route, an accompanying program will be organized - the opening of the photo exhibition.Camino de Santiago' Ivica Bota, and testimonies of pilgrims with Camina in Spain and Croatia. Applications are being accepted here.
Sisak – Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross
Camino Banovina starts on Saturday,November 12 the section from Sisak to Petrinja with a length of 17.3 kilometers, The gathering of participants is at 8:30 a.m. in Petrinja in front of the church of St. Lovre, followed by a transfer to Sisak, a the start of the walk is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. from Sisak, in front of the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The walkers are expected to arrive in Petrinja at 14.30:XNUMX p.m.
In the afternoon at 16:00 p.m. there will be the opening of the exhibition 'Camino de Santiago' by Ivica Bota, in the Gallery of the 12th Home Guard Regiment, Ivana Mažuranića 22, and then at 17:00 p.m. a round table with the theme "Camino experience and testimonies" at the "MIS" inn ", Dr. Franje Tuđman Square 10.
The walk continues on Sunday, November 13 from Petrinja to Prnjavor Čuntićki, and the section is 16,6 kilometers long.
Petrinja - Church of St. Lawrence
The gathering of participants and the start of the walk is at 8:00 a.m. in front of the church of St. St. Lawrence in Petrinja, and the arrival in Prnjavor Čuntićki is predicted for 15:00 p.m., followed by the distribution of pilgrimage certificates. Return by bus to Petrinja is at 17:00.

The arrival and accommodation of the participants is under their own arrangement. The organizers advise the participants to bring comfortable walking shoes, and - depending on the weather - protection from the sun and rain. It is recommended to take at least 2 liters of water, a sandwich, fruit or energy bars with you.

The new route 'Camino Banovina' is a continuation of the project of discovering and forming new tourist potentials in Croatia, more precisely creating the preconditions for development of religious or pilgrimage tourism and active recreation.
The goal is to encourage as many pilgrims of different nations and worldviews to feel this special "Camino experience" in Croatia.
