After last year's well-attended race, this year it will be held in the heart of Podravina, in the town of Đurđevac April 8th for the second time to hold a trail race called "Croatian Sahara Trail".
The length of the tracks that competitors have to choose from are: 5,7 i 17,2 kilometers, and the start and finish of the race is in front of the medieval fortress Historic center. It is a cultural monument and one of the best-preserved fortresses with Gothic-Renaissance features in the continental part of Croatia.
From the Stari grad fort, it moves along the wooden walkway to park-forest "Borik". A century-old pine and acacia forest with a branched network of footpaths and a well-maintained trim trail was created by human activity of afforestation and pacification of the "Bloody Sands" at the beginning of the 20th century. Today, the sand in Borik is predominantly an integral part of the forest stand, which represents the peaceful natural oasis of the town. The area is characterized by undulations of the terrain and dunes that make the Borik forest ideal for recreation. The surface and path are paved and arranged forest roads and paths, and the paths are relatively flat and slightly undulating in some parts.
The paths are marked with strips, and arrows will be placed at all intersections. The start of the race is at 10 am, and electronic timing will be provided. In total, close to 450 runners will participate, coming from all over Croatia, Austria, Germany and Slovenia.

It is a great honor for the organizers to host this year 2nd round of the "Prins" Canicross trail league 2023. Canicross is an increasingly popular sport in which people and their dogs participate.
The response to the "Croatian Sahara Trail" is extremely good and everyone is looking forward to the participants of the race. The organizers will do their best to ensure that everyone has a great time at the race in the only desert in Croatia.
