Milna on the island of Brač has become a true open-air culinary stage. Organized by the Milna Municipality Tourist Board and with the support of the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board, the event was held Heritage on a plateThe evening brought together tradition, local flavors, music, and togetherness of all generations.

In the setting of the maritime center, Milna announced the start of another one Milnarski lit. – a rich program that this year has been further enriched by the innovative project "Gastro Đir Milna".
As part of the program, the "Heritage on the Plate" awards were presented to those who continue to cook like our grandmothers: with lots of love and seasonal ingredients, respecting the traditional recipe.
The "Gastro Đir Milna" project was designed to present the richness of Brač's gastronomic offer to visitors through five unique gastronomic routes - fish, meat, brunch Đir, mixed route and hidden places under the pines. Each route leads through restaurants and taverns that nurture authentic cuisine with an emphasis on local ingredients, traditional recipes and a warm homely atmosphere.
The tour started in a restaurant. Vala, where the legendary grandmother Đurđica welcomed guests with a pašticada prepared according to the family recipe and handmade gnocchi. Along with some of her little culinary secrets and tricks that she selflessly revealed, the grandmother told how, thanks to her magical pašticada, she ended up in Italian and Croatian newspapers, and in addition to the delicacy that made her famous, guests were also greeted with a delicious black risotto and a warm family story. Although she is well into her eighth decade of life, she wholeheartedly assists her grandson Marin and his wife Dorotea, with whom she runs the restaurant.

The visit continued in the tavern. Nono Deslav, where Elizabeta Lekšić delighted with her own lamb and rožata from her home kitchen. – If I tell you how I prepare my lamb with beans, I will have to kill you., Elizabeta, the owner and head chef of the tavern, made the crowd laugh. It's hard to count all the visitors who were left breathless here. In addition to the lamb, blue and white peacocks and the magical sunset, this rural household will also be remembered for its antiques, such as an antique refrigerator.

Restaurant Palma de Mallorca, recognized among sailors, is known for its perfect grilled dishes. This restaurant was founded back in 1970 by the grandfather of owner Darko Marinović, Daroslav. On this occasion, the palates of the guests were delighted with the delicious grilled octopus with cauliflower puree, and beef cheeks with homemade gnocchi.

Pantera Food Bar is a place where you can enjoy a Dalmatian brunch and something on the spoon all year round. Chef Luka Marinović delighted us with grilled tuna with Swiss chard, pasticada with delicious homemade gnocchi and delicious black risotto.

Tavern Gajeta offered a real fireworks display of island flavors. The polite and creative owners, Ratko and Goran Topić, simply disarmed with the selection of dishes. The Dalmatian plate containing tuna, marinated shrimp on salad, octopus on salad and salted anchovies, or spaghetti with seafood – scampi, prawns, mussels and clams. These imperial snacks can be paired with as many as 40 types of mostly local – Brač and Dalmatian wines.

The center of Milna has brought a new dimension to dining enjoyment Fjak which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Culinary virtuosos – owner Stipe Martinić and chef Milan Dudić, took care of feasting on top-notch black risotto and homemade pljukanci with shrimp.

In the tavern Picture, overlooking the sea, feasted on selected wines, veal and black risotto. This place, as the owner Nenad Bonačić Vicić proudly emphasizes, offers brunch throughout the year. The ingredients are purchased exclusively from local OPGs, so here you can taste delicious Brač lamb, Brač sheep cheese and Drniš prosciutto.

Restaurant Navigation at ACI Marina Milna delighted the visitors' senses. When the charming host Petar Mladinić, after serving cuttlefish with broad beans, sardines in savor, pasticada with beef cheeks, cuttlefish goulash with gnocchi, homemade pasta with seafood and homemade salsa, octopus on salad and lobster with homemade pasta, brought the true queen of Brač's indigenous desserts - the magnificent hrapoćuša cake, which imitates the island's karst - there was no end to the delight.

Restaurant Dispet once again reminded us that Milna is a place where fresh fish reigns supreme on the menu. Guests were treated to a traditional Dalmatian fish stew with a truly impressive list of ingredients – bream, sea bass, octopus, shrimp and mussels in wine and salsa with polenta as a side dish. The friendly owner Petar Rendić confirmed that fresh fish is what is most often requested.

For the grand finale, in the hotel restaurant Illyrian, visitors feasted on mussels on a buzara with polenta for a modern touch grilled, grilled fish, and the Starac i more platter – shrimp pate, smoked mussels, anchovies, marinated shrimp, homemade prosciutto and cheese, and traditional fig, plum and almond jam.

Manifestation Heritage on a plate not only did she present the gastronomic wealth of Milna, but she also confirmed that authentic experiences, which combine local culture, heritage and top cuisine, become a strong tourist asset.
Gastro tourism in Milna thus gains a new dimension – one in which every bite turns into a story of tradition, family and love for the place. And everyone who has been through this gastronomic journey will certainly confirm – Milna is remembered for its taste.
