For all those who want to spend an active day in nature, we suggest an interesting event that will take place on August 31 at the Sov lake, which is located in the area of Zlatna Slavonia, on the wooded northern slopes of Dilj gora. It is an ideal location for every nature lover, which is the venue for the Sovsko jezero Trail race every year at this time.
The race is a trail concept, which means that the trail is fully marked with hiking markings, tapes or road signs. The trails are circular and cover three counties: Osijek-Baranja, Požega-Slavonia and Brod-Posavina. The trail type is a forest road and hard macadam.
The third edition of the Sovsko jezero Trail race will gather competitors in four categories. The large trail is 21 kilometers long, the medium trail is 10 kilometers long, and the small trail is 5 kilometers long. The shortest Children's race between 200 and 600 meters in length has been prepared for the youngest participants.
The program will start already at 9 am with registration and distribution of starting packages for the three main races, and an hour later the children's race will start. All three trail races, at 5, 10 and 21 kilometers, will start at the same time, at 11 a.m., and the announcement of the winner is scheduled for 15 p.m.
The Sov Lake Trail is being organized by the Committee for the Arrangement and Protection of the Sov Lake again this year. In addition to being a competition, this event is an ideal opportunity for fun, socializing and spending quality time in nature for the whole family.
In the end, let's say how Owl Lake which is also called the Blue Eye of Slavonia, is located about half an hour's drive from Požega, Slavonski Brod and Đakovo. Maleno jezero with its shape and dark green color, which sometimes turns into blue, reminds the eye and is the last remnant of the Pannonian Sea in Croatia.
You can find more information about this lake in the story of our blogger Sandra Vukoja, which is located at links.
