We are pleased to invite you to another edition of the traditional manifestation with which we open the third season - autumn in Gorski kotar. It's about Plum Day which this year is held for the eighteenth time in the smallest municipality of Gorski Kotar, Brod Moravice on Saturday, September 10, 2021.
At the very beginning of the event, you can enjoy an easy family hike through a beautiful forest accompanied by a guide Lynx and Fox and PD Vršak na Pointed tip from which it extends fantastic view to the Kupa river valley and neighboring Slovenia. Don't worry, the top is not pointed, and the walk is intended for families with children as well as individuals and couples.
Before going for a walk in the woods, we will surprise you with a tasting fine plum delicacies. Plum liqueur for adults and plum juice for children await you, and we will all get the strength to walk together by sweetening ourselves with fine plum cakes.
The walk is only 5 kilometers long and the climb is not difficult, and the participation fee, which includes all of the above, is HRK 50,00 for adults and HRK 25,00 for children. After hiking, we join the program of the event Plum Day in Brod Moravice, which has been held for years because of the preservation of traditional customs and the preparation of autochthonous plum products, the roasting of brandy and the tasting of plum products prepared in the home way. A competition for the best plum jam and the best plum brandy is also organized, along with a cultural and artistic program and a visit to interesting museum exhibits, of which you will be most delighted by the line-ups that show what the old classrooms (Vilko Golubić Memorial Classroom) and “birtije” (Blue Cellar) used to look like.
Lovers of home-made products and food. we will get ours because a really impressive number of exhibitors are waiting for you at the fair part of the event. In addition to a variety of plum products, you will find homemade cheeses, natural cosmetics, jams and jams and strudels made from handmade drawn dough filled - of course with plums, which will be made by skilled housewives who are now members of the Association of Pensioners in Brod Moravice. Come and spend pleasant moments while walking in nature, good music, healthy food and a real homemade drop!
It is important to note that although it is the route to Špičast vrh is technically undemanding, but it is not recommended for people who have serious health problems with movement (problems with knees, hips, etc.), and when bringing children, it is recommended to take active children older than 4/5. year. Sturdy and high-quality closed shoes (shoes or tennis shoes) with rubber ribbed soles and layered clothing are mandatory due to the changing temperatures in Gorski Kotar. Dogs of all types welcome!
