There are tourists in this small country, but not excessively. The country doesn't have its own airport, but that doesn't mean you should exclude it from your sightseeing wish list.
Principality of Liechtenstein is a Central European country that extends to just 160 square kilometers and it is at the very top of the list of the smallest countries in the world. Although it is one of the countries of the Old Continent that is visited annually by the smallest number of tourists, this does not mean that it has nothing to offer.
It borders Austria to the east, and Switzerland to the west, which suggests how it is dominated by mountains. Crystal lakes, untouched nature and historical buildings are hidden between beautiful mountain peaks.
An oasis for lovers of history and nature
In Liechtenstein, you can visit some of the most interesting museums in the world, for example calculator museum or postage stamp museum. For lovers of historical landmarks, the first choice will probably be castles like Gutenberg dating back to Roman times.
If you decide to stay longer, explore the sculptures on the streets of the capital Vaduz, and in the summertime visit the famous ones Schaan festival, a two-day event filled with music, culture and art.

This small country has a reputation as one of the most beautiful alpine destinations, which is not surprising considering the mountain peaks with eternal snow, numerous lakes, the river Rhine, dense forest and green pastures.
If you like to walk, you might want to pass along a 400 kilometer long hiking trail which combines this charming country with magical Switzerland.
