In November 2019, the area of the only cave park in Europe, Grabovača Cave Park, was declared permanently protected in the category significant landscape. This area or significant landscape of Risovac-Grabovača covers an area of over 5000 hectares. The area is interesting due to its great geodiversity, and all the features that make Lika a special Croatian region and a special region of the Dinarides karst are gathered in a small area.
Grabovača is a hill at 770 meters above sea level, only 2,5 kilometers from the center of Perušić. At Grabovača you will find an invaluable wealth of underground karst formations, which makes up a quarter of the total number of protected speleological objects in Croatia. Six caves and one pit, three of which are on the list of protected national geomorphological natural monuments.
///The only cave park in Europe is in Lika
As many as 19 were recorded species cave fauna. Samograd Cave is a typical locality for the beetle Typhlotrechus bilimekii kiesenwetteri, which is also endemic to Lika. More than 20 were found mammal species, and ten species bat is strictly protected. There are also 15 in this area species butterfly of which 8 are strictly protected, a birds are the most widespread group and to date 81 have been recorded species, of which 24 are strictly protected. It is a critically endangered species suri eagle.

New information brochure
Public institution "Grabovača Cave Park" has produced a new informative brochure for anyone who wants to plan their tour in detail before visiting the Cave Park. The brochure contains a number of practical information needed to navigate the Park and is a new tool in planning a visit to the Cave Park. Different ways of visiting and getting to know the Cave Park, from visiting the Samograd cave to visiting educational trails, lookouts, forest organ, Pan's labyrinth and other hidden charms of Grabovača can be found in this richly illustrated brochure. In addition to information about the park itself, information about attractions in the area is also available.
A brochure was also made Educational programs of Grabovača Cave Park, intended primarily for kindergartens, primary and secondary schools and colleges. The brochure offers a summary of all the educational programs needed to explore the Park and seek new sources of knowledge. In addition to brochures, a map of the Park was printed, which clearly shows the contents of the Park, their location and the ways in which they can be reached.
