Cultural-historical identity as a basis for storytelling and promotion of a receptive tourist destination

Continuing to follow the cultural-historical traces, we arrived from Bosnia via Livno to the Cetinje krajina and Zaostrog, on the Adriatic coast, whose Franciscan monastery preserves many artifacts and the secrets of our identity. Fleeing from the "Ottoman tyranny", the Bosnian Franciscans with part of the regiment reached Zaostrog through the Cetina valley, and they remade the "mass vestment" from the royal mantle of the Bosnian and Hum rulers.

Looking for additional artifacts for tourist stories or popular storytelling, from Kraljeva Sutjeska and the valley of Bosna and Lašva, we reached the Čačvina fortress, which dominates the Cetina region, via Livno. Considering the first mention, which dates back to 1371, it is clear that the connections with the Bosnian-Hum rulers who dominated the Dinaric mountains are more than clear.

The Cetina Valley, along with the Neretva Delta, was the most frequent passage from the Adriatic to the interior, so the struggle for control of trade was often measured on the "knights of the knights". That is why the domicile rulers from the Nelipić family had special relations with their neighbors via Kamešnica, Biokovo and Dinara.

We also followed the escape route of the last queen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Katarina, but also of many refugees and attackers and persecutors in the centuries before and after the 15th century. There are known traces of Illyrian and Roman roads and settlements, as well as the arrival of Croatian tribes whose kings ruled the eastern coast of the Adriatic for several centuries. In the Middle Ages, there were also scenes of battles and chivalrous gatherings here, which are still extremely interesting, both for historians and tourists.

With the desire and interest to present these cultural and historical traces first to the resident population and potential tourism entrepreneurs and employees, but also to promote them as an exceptional tourist potential with competent experts, we visited these regions.

The project is a commendable action by museum and tourist workers with the support of competent institutions DELMATI STRENGTH OF THE COMMUNITY, with the exhibition that started in Tomislavgrad via Sarajevo and reached Livno. This is how we got acquainted with the construction of dry stone walls, which was immanent to Illyrian builders, as well as metal utensils and tools and weapons that were used in that period. A good part of these artifacts was excavated, processed and placed in domicile museums or collections in Franciscan monasteries throughout the Dinarides.

We are just in THE MUSEUM OF TRILJA REGION, with the friendliness of the director Ljuba and the housekeeper Zdravka, we got to know many traces and interesting objects that we inherited from our ancestors. With the interesting interpretations of the writer and publicist Ante Zirdum, the cultural-historical heritage has become available for tourism valorization.

As competent institutions for tourism and sustainable development at all levels in the Republic of Croatia recognized this type of tourism promotion, they initiated and publicly announced tenders for the application and financing of such projects. This is exactly what is open to the joint TZ and LGUs, where the coordination of Cetinje Krajina sees a good opportunity to support this type of realization of tourism projects.

This is a good way to create added value and brand a receptive tourist destination, but also to solve the problem of seasonality and reallocation of tourism from the Adriatic coast to Zagora and river valleys. That's why it's good for us along, down, and across rivers, streams, springs... which abound in our land. And there is always inspiration both in the sky and in the underground.
