Namely, in the seventh century it was inhabited by Croats, it successfully defended itself against pirates seven times, the seventh prince Frankopan was the last prince, and today the island of Krk has seven main centers. That the oldest traces of the town of KRKA and its surroundings date back to prehistory, laid on ancient foundations, while its appearance was specially defined by the Romans by setting up two main streets, thistle i decumanus, and the ramparts were given in the Middle Ages. Francopan castle has remained almost in its original condition to this day as the legacy of the Frankopan princes of Krk, who managed to stay in skilful political flirtations with Venice for several centuries.

Yes, if you come to Krk and do not visit islet Košljun, is like coming to Rome and not seeing the Pope. A real gem located in the bay in front of PUNTA, with a Franciscan monastery in the central part of the island and a museum display, rich ethnographic, archeological and sacral collections and a library that attracts curious views of history and culture lovers.

That the origin of the "christening list" is Croats, Baška slabs, the most important Croatian Glagolitic monument and document in Jurandvor, near BAŠKA in the church of St. Lucy dating from 1100. The original plaque was moved to Zagreb in 1934 and is located in the hall of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The fact that the Glagolitic alphabet is still one of the trademarks of Baška is evidenced by the large sculptures in the form of Glagolitic letters placed along the road on the way to Baška - Baška Glagolitic path.

That in a dense forest near VRBNIK, or Risika, there is an almost hidden locality called Graz. The remains of the great Kaštel, the fortress of Duke Frankopan, have been preserved, and it is Gradec that is considered the place of their origin. This locality, perfectly integrated into nature and accessible only to the curious gaze of walkers, is an important monument that bears witness to the island's most famous noble family. When visiting Vrbnik, don't miss a walk down the narrowest street in the world.

That one of the largest galleries in Croatia is located on the island of Krk, in DOBRINJE. Thanks to the family infield, art patrons from Vienna, the eponymous gallery whose interior extends to more than 400 m2 again captivates with its beauty and attracts more and more visitors because the gallery exhibits world works of art of various artistic directions, from naive to pop art.
