Maldives on a budget: Do you think Maldives is a luxury for the rich? You are mistaken!

Each of us has at least once had the opportunity to think about vacationing outside of Croatia and all the options seem too expensive. Agencies offer their packages which are sometimes unprofitable if you take into account the price-offer ratio. That is why we often opt for the Croatian coast, which at first glance seems more profitable, although this is not always the case.

Maldives have for a long time been an extremely popular destination for many travel enthusiasts, which to many at the very mention of it seems like an expensive investment. This island nation in the Indian Ocean consists of 1200 islands that offer numerous natural resources. In addition to the beautiful sandy beaches and sunsets, the flora and fauna is something that is seen once in a lifetime. One of the most famous types of animals are small sharks, so-called. baby sharks, who like to swim in the shallows and socialize with visitors. The resort offers excursions where you can dive and swim together with these little creatures as they are completely harmless to humans.

Flora and fauna are not the only charm of the Maldives. In addition to turquoise beaches, coral reefs, turtles and fish, the Maldives also offers a rich gastronomic offer. Koturos, the famous risotto with tuna or chicken on the island of Maafushi can be found for an incredible 35 kuna per person. If you want to have lunch for two, a platter with crabs, tuna and shrimp is an ideal choice, and it will cost you around 120 kuna. You will agree that you can rarely find such a cheap meal for two anywhere on the Croatian coast.

The already mentioned island of Maafushi is one of the islands where you can enjoy the charms of tropical Paradise - Maldives. The average price of a night in a four-star hotel room is around 500 kuna, which includes breakfast. If you want more privacy and are willing to set aside a larger amount of money, private apartments are a good choice. A double room in one such facility will cost you around 700 kuna.

Of course, prices are rising in terms of quality, service and location. However, the most expensive are the nights in the resort, which provide a complete catering service just for you. According to prices on booking a night in a five-star resort can cost you around 20 thousand kuna. An interesting thing is that food, beach, massages, diving with animals and other services within the resort can be used and paid for separately even if you are not staying at the resort. This means that staying in a hotel or apartment will be much cheaper. For the same amount of money you will be able to find accommodation on two other local islands, Rasdhoo and Dharavandhoo. They also offer a rich selection of food and drinks at a very reasonable price, and fun and a good atmosphere are also guaranteed.

It is important to mention that the Maldives is a Muslim country, so it is necessary to adhere to their rules of conduct and dress in public so as not to offend the local population. However, on Maafushi the rules are weaker, so it is not necessary to be completely covered, but it is definitely recommended not to walk around in a bikini.

In addition to overnight stays, it is important to choose affordable flights. In this case, it is much more cost-effective to look for offers that are not part of the agencies because flights and overnight stays are much more expensive, but it is important to keep in mind that traveling with agencies also has its benefits. If you are not a fan of travel organization, the agency offers pre-designed routes, and you are also insured. So it is up to you to choose which option seems more tempting to you.
