An attractive exhibition of the "Friends of the Sea" project, this year under the name "The island of Krk - a heritage experience", guest in the city of Krk from June 2 to 16. The thirteenth year The attractive exhibition of the "Friends of the Sea" project is touring the squares and waterfronts of Istria and the northern Adriatic. During the summer of 2023, the exhibition is thematically dedicated to our island of Krk and its cultural and historical heritage.
Exhibition Friends of the Sea at thirty large formats presents a series of photographic records that show shots such as the remains of the ancient city of Fulfinum, located not far from Omišalj, a magnificent (early) Romanesque sacral complex that includes the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the church of St. Quirin and St. Margaret in the city of Krk, the nearby Kamplin Square and the medieval Frankopan castle, then the monastery of the Third Order Franciscans and its museum collection in the quiet fishing village of Porat near Malinska, or the Franciscan monastery and the Renaissance Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the picturesque islet of Košljun.
Along with the display of each destination on the exhibition board, visitors, via QR code, can connect with the parent tourist community to which the photo belongs and make sightseeing more interesting and multimedia.

By presenting the island's cultural heritage through the medium of photography, through an outdoor exhibition, strategically located in the city center, we want to bring the concept of cultural tourism closer to as many people as possible, that is, encourage them to understand and get to know the history, art, architecture and lifestyle of the destination, emphasizes Ivana Kovačić, director of the Tourist Board of the City of Krk.
