A great discovery by mathematicians! The distance between Split and Osijek is the same in both directions

Croatian mathematicians from one of our prestigious faculties came up with a mathematical equation to “a new ”incredible discovery and cognitions.

They calculated and proved how it is the distance between Split and Osijek is the same in both directions, as in the case of Pula and Vukovar or Zagreb and Vinkovci. Yes, I know it sounds amazing. The distance between Osijek and Split is exactly 687 kilometers, and to make things better, it is the same distance in the other direction if you travel from Split to Osijek. Also, the distance between Pula and Vukovar is exactly 559 kilometers, and in the other direction, not a kilometer more. And now it is already clear that the same applies to the distance between Zagreb and Vinkovci.

As I was pleasantly surprised by this discovery, I decided to test it last summer and see for myself if it was true. I left Vinkovci for Pula and back, and two weeks later I traveled to Split and back. And yes, really, the distance is the same in both directions. Trust me on the words, tried and tested on your skin.

Are you surprised too?

The text is still relevant because it is still Slavonia if you ask the inhabitants of Dalmatia, Istria or northern Croatia and even Zagreb - far. I'm still waiting for somewhere in Zagreb to see a big billboard of Slavonia's tourist boards, which might say: Slavonic metropolis Osijek two hours, Baranja two and a half hours, cradle of European civilization Vučedol 2 and a half hours, European Amazon Kopački rit 2 hours, Mountain that remembers the sea Papuk an hour and a half, Zlatna dolina an hour and a half, Beach on the Sava in Slavonski Brod an hour and a half, Vinkovci home of the oldest Indo-European calendar two and a half hours... continue the series.

The challenge still stands! The Easter holidays can be an occasion to explore the offer of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem, and precisely on this page where you are now has probably more tourist stories from Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem than anywhere else on the internet. Explore them.
