There is hardly a better backdrop than the world pearl of Dubrovnik for the capital of the Seven Kingdoms. No special film effects were needed to turn the Old Town into the Royal Grudobran. Surrounded by mighty walls, intoxicated by eternal summer and the turquoise Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik played the role of a city of intrigue and longing for rule and power for a full seven seasons for the Oscars. Visit the staircase of the Great Brotherhood of Baelor by which Cersei Lannister set off on a "walk of shame" through the streets of Kraljeva Grudobrana. There is also Red fort, the seat of the King of the Andals and the First People. How about the legendary the battle for Crnovod where was Stannis Baratheon's powerful fleet overrun, which was filmed on Šulić beach at the foot of the Old Town walls?

Did you know that at Fort Minceta you can walk like Daenerys Targaryen when she searched for her lost dragons in the House of the Immortals? And that, of course, is not all. Game of Thrones was filmed at more than 15 locations in the city, but it is best to come and explore everything on your own and experience each episode of the series. Dubrovnik knows all the secrets of the King's Grudobran.

In Westeros, all available weapons were allowed because, as Cersei Lannister nicely put it, in Game of Thrones you either win or you die. Do you want intrigue, exchange of secrets and a little diplomacy? There is no better place for that than Arboretum Trsteno about 20 kilometers away from Dubrovnik, in whose gardens the plans and future of the Seven Kingdoms were forged. If you prick up your ears a little better, you can still hear the conspiratorial whispers of Margaery and Lady Olenne Tyrell and Lords Baelish and Varys. And next to them, Sansa Stark must be hiding somewhere.

Lokrum - Qarth

Unlike Daenerys Targaryen, who traveled for days to the trading town of Qarth where she sought allies, you will Lokrum take about ten minutes by boat. A small mystical island near Dubrovnik, which, according to legend, saved the English King Richard I, better known as Richard the Lionheart, will seduce you at first sight with lush vegetation, intoxicating scents and the song of crickets. These gardens in the Game of Thrones were ruled by "those of pure blood." Take a walk along the paths where the Khalees and her powerful host Xaro Xhoan Daxos walked. And while you’re on the island, you can also sit on The Iron Throne, which is located in a Benedictine monastery. Just be careful, you will have many enemies…

That impenetrable rampart in the Game of Thrones is 5,5 kilometers long walls in Ston, a small town on the Peljesac peninsula, an hour's drive from Dubrovnik. Stroll through the longest preserved fortification system in the world after the Great Wall of China and feel as powerful as the numerous rulers of Westeros. And last but not least, the impressive walls are not built for the needs of the series. They have existed here since the 14th century.

Split - Meereen

Welcome to the city museum. A Mediterranean gem that also enchanted the Roman emperor Diocletian. Split was simply the perfect setting for the fantastic and cruel the world of Westeros. In the mysterious basements of Diocletian's Palace, the interior of which served to enchant the city of Meereen, which freed Daenerys Targaryen from slavery, powerful dragons were kept and trained for the coming battles, and the thick walls hide the secret of the army of the Gray Worm and the Immaculate her return to the Iron Throne.

As you walk the mystical paths of the ancient palace be careful not to fall into the ambush of the Sons of the Harpy, and we do not guarantee that in the dark corridors Khaleesi has not forgotten some of her flying baby. And that's not all, in the very center of the city a museum dedicated to the series was opened which nicely rounds out the journey into the fascinating world of Game of Thrones.

Like a staunch master, this one a fortress named after a gorge, where it is located between the hills Kozjak and Mosor, has been watching Split for centuries. In line with Targaryen's family motto "Fire and Blood", Daenerys conquered Meereen, the largest of the slave-owning cities, in this combination of the cruel beauty of the Dalmatian hinterland and perfect sea views.

A tour that can freely be called “Feel as powerful as Khaleesi” takes you through the historic walls and paths where in the series slave owners paid with their lives for a conflict with a blonde ruler. And when you climb to the top of the fortress, you will enjoy the same view as the "Mother of Dragons". The coincidence of the facts as it is is interesting Klis was the first capital of Croatia during the Trpimirović dynasty.

Trogir - Qarth and Kastel Gomilica - Braavos

"The greatest city in the world that has ever been and will be" is a term used in the series to describe Qarth, and it is very easy to imagine it as an ideal description. Trogir, whose historic center is under UNESCO protection. The beauty of this Dalmatian town, which is considered the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic city in Central Europe, blended perfectly into the story of a magnificent trading town ruled by the Thirteen.

As you pass by sights such as Kamerlengo Fortress, the walls and the cathedral you will remember how Trogir was the place where cunning merchants led by the self-proclaimed king of Qarth Xhar Xhoan Daxos captured Daenerysa's dragons. The revenge of the "Mother of Dragons" was terrible. In the immediate vicinity of Trogir, only 15 kilometers away, there is also Kastel Gomilica, one of the seven Kaštela, whose port and castle Kaštilac served as part of the town of Braavos.

Sibenik - Braavos

You remember Arye Stark, the fearless daughter of Lord Eddard Ned Stark, who saved the world alive by killing the Night King. One of her adventures takes place right in Šibenik when a sailboat with a princess sails into the free city of Braavos after a colossal titan, where they can be seen perfectly Fortress of St. Nicholas and the contours of the beautiful buildings in the background.

Along with Kaštel Gomilica, this Dalmatian gem played the role of the mighty the banking center of the Seven Kingdoms, and Šibenik Cathedral of St. Jacob under the protection of UNESCO without any additional costume design became the Iron Bank, the most powerful financial institution in the known world.
