There are even two film festivals in Vinkovci this week

Film Lovers Association RARE from Vinkovci and for the fifth year in a row she prepared a rich film program in Vinkovci. By connecting the program 9th Ancient Film Evenings and 15th DORF Documentary Rock Film Festival, Slavonian fans of documentaries in Film Week until August 21 will enjoy screenings of recent film production, with an accompanying program.

The program began yesterday with the opening of the Thirsty Ear poster exhibition, at the cult Hang Loose bar. After that, film screenings were held in the lapidary of the Vinkovci City Museum - the world premiere of the film "Far Coast in America" ​​by Boris Hrepić Hrepa and the film "Forever Composer: Rajko Dujmić" by Toni Volarić, who was present at the screening.

Tonight, after the grand opening 9. Ancient movie nights, there are two films on the program in honor of this year's laureate - the short experimental film “Kino Crvena zvijezda” (Croatia, own production, 2014) and the documentary “War Reporter” (Croatia, Factum, 2011). For the second year in a row, the winner of the award for contribution to film and archeology is "Stojan Dimitrijević" Sylvester Sausage - photographer, cameraman and director, and film pedagogue.

The second day, Wednesday, August 18, always begins with an interesting one - a lecture with news from the Vinkovci City Museum, but the traditional presentation of this year's results and the announcement of archeological works in the second part of the year. Immediately after that, a film-music quiz powered by Klasik TV leads the famous quiz Mario Kovač - director, performer, DJ, actor, doctor of science, screenwriter, chess player, passionate pub quizzer.

At the very end of this year's edition of the 9th Ancient Film Evenings, we are watching the award-winning documentary film by Ivan Ramljak "On One Youth" (Croatia, ADU Zagreb, 2020).

It also starts on Thursday 15th DORF Festival - In this year's selection in the Regional Competition, eight films from Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina will be screened. A total of three Croatian and one world premiere this year in Vinkovci, on the big screen, will bring recent works of music and documentary production closer.

The film "Far Coast in America" ​​(Croatia, Boris Hrepić, 2021) has already had its world premiere in Vinkovci, and the Croatian audience will watch for the first time the films "Indexi" (BiH, Radio Television BiH, 2020) by the author duo Zoran Kubura / Bojan Hadžiabdić, “Departure” (Odpotovanje / Slovenia, Petra pan film, 2020) by Slovenian director Petra Seliškar about the cult singer-songwriter Tomaž Pengov and “Rock bozon” (Croatia, Istra film, 2021) by Rijeka author Bernardin Modrić.

In the regular selection The Secret History of Rock, the Croatian premiere will have the film "Don't Go Gentle - a film about IDLES" by Mark Archer (UK, MEA Films, 2020), a real treat for all fans of the louder sound of this exciting band, whose music and performances are winning over more and more fans, of all generations.

This year, the DORF Lifetime Achievement Award is given to cinematographer and director Radislav Jovanov Gonz. Mate Škugor will receive a special DORF award for his contribution to the underground this year.
