The history of the island of Hvar, how the people of Hvar live outside the tourist season and where they go on vacation, where the oldest folk theater in Europe is located... you can find out all this and much more in the film by Vid Juračić, who films and reveals the interesting stories of the local people he encounters.

This is a series that the aforementioned author started with neighborhood stories in Zagreb, and then moved on to the Croatian islands. After Komiža, Juračić visited Hvar in the second episode of “Island of Stories,” which he wrote about in collaboration with Tourist board of the town of Hvar and in dialogues with the local population, told interesting stories about the sunniest Croatian island.
But this time the sun, sea and beaches were in the background, and the emphasis was on the other side of Hvar. How much the people of Hvar love their island and how much they know about it, its history and interesting facts is shown in 36 minutes of Juračić's work.

In the film "The Island of Stories - Hvar", we will meet Tonći, who is preparing his house for the season and shares his thoughts along the way, and Ante, who prefers Rio de Janeiro to Cuba.
Hvar is a sports and football island, so it is not surprising that there is one football club per 1000 inhabitants. In the film we will also learn what the Forska Liga is, which is known even beyond the borders of Croatia, and how the Hvar indoor football tournament is the second oldest in Croatia.

The video is full of beautiful shots of Hvar, either taken using a drone or from one of several lookouts. We can enjoy the view from Poljun, which we learn is associated with Napoleon, and the lavender fields that Velo Grablje is famous for.
– If I had to guess, I would say that Hvar is the most famous Croatian island and it makes sense why, it really is that incredible. Once again I feel blessed for the opportunity to get to know a place in this way. A big thank you to everyone who participated, said Vid Juračić at the end, whose video was seen by almost 25.000 viewers in four days.
