Istria Wine & Walk exceeded all expectations

Istria Wine & Walk is the first event of its kind in Croatia, which premiered in 2015. This year, the seventh edition gathered as many as 700 participants who enjoyed the charms of northwestern Istria and the rich eno-gastronomic offer.

Numerous domestic and foreign visitors were welcomed by the offer 13 top Istrian winemakers and nine local caterers and producers at as many as eight stops. The participants enjoyed the wines Kozlović, Bassanese, Franković, Celega, Degrassi, Clai, Benčić, Tomaz, Fakin, Cattunar, Coronica, Cuj and Veralda.

Striking gastronomic specialties, such as tramezzino with prawns, burattino and pistachios, savory cheese and zucchini pie, Istrian pie, hunting soup and many others, were prepared for the guests by Poluotok, Villa Soši, Radošević & Duniš, Circolo, Konoba Fakin, Food & Wine Primizia, Tavern Morgan and Veralda.

This year's Istria Wine & Walk, for which 700 registration fees sold out in a few days, once again proved to be especially popular among guests from abroad and other parts of Croatia who recognize northwestern Istria as a top tourist and eno-gastronomic destination.

The route of the seventh Istria Wine & Walka started at the site of najbolis the world 's Malvasia, awarded at this year's Vinistra. These are Kozlović Santa Lucia 2018 wines. On a 13-kilometer-long wine hike, walkers were delighted by the labyrinths of vineyards at many famous wine-growing sites, as well as an exhibition at the Tigor Gallery in Donji Baredine and the beautiful Škarlina Nature Park between Brtonigla and the Mirna estuary. Guests also had the opportunity to visit the Cattunar and Veralda wine cellars. They concluded the day with an after party at St. Servula Square in Buje.

Istria Wine & Walk is one of the many gourmet events organized throughout the year by the Northwestern Istria cluster. The development and improvement of such events attracts many domestic and foreign fans of top eno-gastronomic offer in this part of the Istrian peninsula.
