Juliška - an old-fashioned cake that has survived numerous modifications

As is usually the case with old recipes, and Juliška is one of the longest-lived cakes, every housewife threw out something that didn't suit her, and sometimes added something that, in her opinion, could bebolto taste. That is why under the name Juliška on the Internet you can find a whole range of similar or less similar cakes, and even variations in the name Juliška. They all have one thing in common, and that is simplicity. Our grandmothers didn’t have much time for complicated cakes that look nice, because they didn’t have Instagram either, but that’s why they were finger-licking. This is one of the ways to make a fine Juliška.

- 6 egg yolks
- 18 dkg of sugar
- 5 dkg of flour
- 3 dkg of cocoa
- 1 baking powder
- 6 egg whites

- 1 dl of milk
- 20 dkg of sugar
- half a margarine
- 20 dkg of walnuts
- juice of half a lemon
- chocolate for cooking

<strong>Preparation: </strong>

Biscuit: Put 6 egg yolks and 18 dkg of sugar in a bowl. While mixing, add 5 dkg of flour, 3 dkg of cocoa, 1 baking powder and 6 egg whites. Grease the tin with oil or margarine and sprinkle with a thin layer of flour, then pour over the biscuit mixture. The oven should be preheated to 200 ° C, and the biscuit should be baked for about twenty minutes.

File: Boil 1 dl of milk with 20 dkg of sugar. When the sugar has dissolved add half the margarine and 20 dkg of walnuts. When the filling is removed from the heat add the juice of half a lemon. Spread the filling on the biscuit when it is already cold, and grate the cooking chocolate on top and cut into “bars”.
