A new section of the pilgrimage route was ceremonially opened Camino Zadar, long 154 kilometers, which becomes an important part of the comprehensive project Camino Croatia – networks of pilgrimage paths which, leaning against each other, soon Croatia is associated with the famous sanctuary of Santiago de Compostela in Spain. and the tomb of St. James.

The opening has begun. with the blessing of Saint James, who gave the pilgrims Pastor Kozina, giving them spiritual encouragement for the journey that lay ahead. This act marked not only the beginning of the walk, but also the spiritual step of each individual on their own Camino journey.
The Camino Zadar is not a fictional route – it is restoration of a historical trail rich in heritage, whose roots we trace back to 1203., when pilgrims passed through these areas on their way to Santiago. This new section, which leads through the Zadar hinterland, reveals the beauty of the landscape, the spirituality of the space and the history that is waiting to be discovered by the steps of modern pilgrims.
Due to the overwhelming interest, the number of participants at the opening was limited for safety reasons and to preserve the authentic Camino experience, but the atmosphere was filled with a spirit of togetherness and joy. A large number of people expressed their desire to be a part of that moment, which clearly shows how alive and needed the Camino is in our region.
The warmth of Proroković touched the pilgrims: an unforgettable encounter
This day will remain deeply etched in the hearts of the pilgrims of the Camino Zadar, mostly thanks to the locals of the small hamlet. Prophets, who welcomed them with a smile, homemade cakes, coffee and drinks – but most of all with an open heartIt was refreshment for the body, but also right refreshment for the soul, in the spirit of the Camino, which connects people through simplicity and kindness.
Knowing that the pilgrims would be passing through their area, the locals organized themselves, gathered together and lovingly prepared everything they could. And that is exactly why this welcome was priceless and unforgettable. The pilgrims, moved by this sincere act, did not hide their emotions – they sang together with the hosts, and then everyone prayed in silence and gratitude: for those who walk, for those who give, and for all those who need prayer.

Pilgrims from Croatia, Germany, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina They will carry this story with them – and tell it wherever they go. Because the bond that was born in Prorokovići is no ordinary one. It is a Camino connection – sincere, pure and lasting.
