The first in a series, and also the shortest recreational long-distance race in Vinkovci is Orion race. It's five kilometers long, and it starts on Saturday, March 15 at 16 p.m from the Vinkovci pedestrian zone. A large number of recreationists from Slavonia and Croatia will also start their quest for the first medal this year Vinkovci trilogies.
The popularity of the five-kilometer race is best illustrated by the fact that registrations for the “Orion” closed at the end of February. But this is just the beginning of the Vinkovci Trilogy, as two more races will be held before the end of the series.

In principle, it is important to participate, such sporting events encourage citizens to take care of their health with socializing and fun, but also confirm that to acquire good habits such as running, no special preparations and trails are required.
The first of three Vinkovci races was named after Orion, the oldest Indo-European calendar found in Vinkovci. Orion is one of the most important artifacts of the rich and interesting Vučedol culture. It was found in the area of today's Vinkovci during excavations near today's Hotel Slavonija in 1978.
Orion is followed by Orient Express and Valens Victorius
The Orion race marks the beginning of the trilogy, and competitors are in for two even more demanding races. That's right April 5th on schedule ten kilometers long Orient Express. The name and motive of the race are related to one of the most famous trains in the history of railways. In Agatha Christie's famous novel Murder on the Orient Express, the train passes through Vinkovci, and so will this race.
The trilogy ends with the third race 8. June, and it is about obstacle races, Valens VictoriusThe name is related to the Roman history of Vinkovci, and it represents a fun, semi-adrenaline race that every year decides the overall winner of the Vinkovci Trilogy. A unique and magnificent race in the heart of Slavonia, full of challenges and fun, it is held every year in memory of the tragically killed Croatian defender Nedjeljko Klarić.
The times of all three races are added together to give a total trilogy time for each competitor and crown the fastest and most agile.
