A reputable travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler published the results of a vote of its readers on which are the friendliest countries in Europe. Ten countries across the continent are ranked based on how welcoming readers find them to be.
This is a list of the 10 friendliest countries in Europe, according to Conde Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards :
10. France – Grade 88.97
All eyes were on France this summer as Paris hosted the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the French spirit seems to have made an impression on readers. Predicted to become the most visited country in the world by 2025, France possesses an incomparable aura that attracts visitors from all over the world. It is a destination of world-renowned works of art, excellent gastronomy, sparkling cities, romantic coastline and, best of all, incredible wines. How not to love her?

9. Spain – Grade 90.00
Although Spain has hit the headlines this year due to protests against tourism, this has not dented its reputation among travelers at all. The cheerful, relaxed beach and siesta culture attracts travelers from all over the world, with Spain predicted to surpass France as the world's most visited country by 2040. 8. Turkey – Rating 90.45

It is also a center for relaxation, with renowned spas such as the Blue Lagoon, which exploits many natural springs for its therapeutic pools, as well as for the unique experience of the aurora borealis.

Austria made an impressive debut on this year's list, dethroning Ireland and was unexpectedly named the friendliest country in Europe. Few places can beat the natural scenery of Austria with the abundance of lakes and mountains that make this country one of the most beautiful in the world, as well as an exciting center for winter and water sports. The Austrian "Lebensgefühl" (meaning awareness of life) best describes how the local people deeply appreciate the beauty of their country and readily invite visitors to enjoy it.
