Croatia is richer for another Camino trail. After Krk, which joined the Camino family in 2019, Imotska Krajina got a share of this the most famous networks of pilgrimage routes. The Camino Imota weekend was held last weekend bringing it Camino Imota trail and conveniently “open”.

More than 100 pilgrims walked the Camino Imota route in three days, and according to the statements of more experienced participants, this route looks reminiscent of the one through Galicia. In addition to a large number of participants, Camino Imota weekend he also attracted interest on social media. Thus, the Facebook group gathered more than 600 followers in a very short time.

Despite the high temperatures, the impressions of the pilgrims are very positive, and this is not surprising given spectacular landscape offered by Imotski region. But in addition to the natural beauty on the Camino Imota route, there are many sacral buildings, and important localities of natural and cultural heritage.

O We have already written about the Camino Imota route but let us repeat only briefly that the route lasts three days in which the pilgrims cover about 75 kilometers. The beginning of the trail is in Biorine (locality Pištet), and through the church of Sv. Jakov and the site of Crkvina goes towards Lovreć where it is also the end of the first day. Other day starts from Lovreć and through Nikolić, Strinić, Lokvičić to Prološki Blato and further through Proložac to the Green Cathedral. Third day the road leads from the Green Cathedral through Kamenmost, Zmijavac and Runovići to Vinjani and Imotski, where in the church of Sv. Frane completion of the trip.

Pilgrims received commemorative stamps in their pilgrimage passports, which serve as a confirmation of the route passed - Camino Imota Compostela.
