This year's Carnival program in Split began with the ceremonial takeover of the City. A fencing duel between Meštrovica and Meštra, from which she emerged victorious, decided which of the two would take over the Key. It was the signal for the beginning of the Carnival celebration and the rich program that awaits us until Tuesday.
The program includes schools and kindergartens, numerous animators and mascots, dance groups, music schools and majorettes. In addition to numerous fellow citizens, allegorical vehicles are also expected, which were particularly interesting in the grand procession last year, and facepainting corners will be set up for those who decide to dress up at the last minute. In addition, sweet surprises await the youngest, and prizes will traditionally be awarded for small and large masks, so if you haven't yet - it's time to prepare yours.
Children will be especially happy today because they at the Split ZOO until 15 p.m. A program tailored just for them awaits. At 12 p.m., a masquerade ball raffle will be held, and the best masks will be chosen and awarded. The program for children continues tomorrow at Prokurative, when it will be held little masquerades, entertainment with animators, face painting and a contest for the best masks.
This year's news are baby masks which will be held tomorrow morning in the foyer of the Split Croatian National Theatre for babies and children up to three years old. According to the organizers, there will be animators and mascots Mickey and Minnie, and afterwards The party moves to the Garden. From there, the procession will head to Prokurative, where participants will enjoy a musical and theatrical program, a dozen dance clubs, the World of Magic, Magic Animators, and the selection of the best masks.
