The Month of Gastronomy in Split continues - Štorije o' spize on Peškarija and in Obrov Street from November 8 to 11

The third Month of Gastronomy in Split continues the culinary story, and Štorije o' spize invites the people of Split and their guests to enjoy an even richer program of events in public squares and open spaces, with the aim of promoting autochthonous Dalmatian wines, dishes and products.

The event takes place from October 23 to November 16, 2024, through the presentation of the flavors and traditions that make Dalmatia unique. The o'spiza tents promote the Dalmatian tradition and way of life with a special emphasis on the Mediterranean diet, which is included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Thus, from November 8 to 11, culinary stories will be held at two locations in Split - Štorije o' spize and wine on Peškarija and Štorije o' spize in Obrov Street.

Peškarija/ Ribarnica, November 8 and 9, 2024 from 17 to 21 p.m.

In the special atmosphere of Split's Peškarija, the Štorija o' spiza and wine event will bring together local winemakers, oil producers and OPGs. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste wines, prosciutto, cheese, soparnik, liqueurs and other local products. The special feature of this event lies in the presentation of autochthonous and almost forgotten varieties of wine from the Dalmatian region, which can rarely be found in the commercial offer. Wines and products will be available for tasting and purchase at festival prices.

In front of Peškarija, chefs will prepare fish delicacies with an entertainment program. This year guests are coming from the Tourist Board of Kolana Municipality from the island of Pag, together with the Association of Pag Cheese Producers. Pag cheese is one of the most valued Croatian gastronomic products and the pride of the island of Pag.

X. Festival and competition of waiters, baristas, bartenders and restaurants - Grand Gourmet, from November 12 to 16, 2024, Hotel Amphora

This one international festival of catering skills, which also symbolically marks the end of the tourist season, gathers professional waiters, bartenders, baristas, hotel and restaurant teams, as well as students of tourism and catering schools from Croatia and abroad. Through a series of competitions in individual and team categories, participants will have the opportunity to show their skills, win valuable prizes and gain recognition in the hospitality industry. In addition to the competitive part, the jubilee Grand Gourmet also offers a rich educational program.

Every day of the festival, in addition to competitions, free masterclasses, lectures, workshops and trainings will be held under the guidance of local and foreign experts from the HoReCa sector. Leading chefs, sommeliers, F&B managers and other hospitality professionals will participate in these trainings. Special emphasis is placed on programs for secondary school students, encouraging and promoting young people who want to achieve excellence in this sector.
