Gorski kotar, unique Croatian Amazon, and its pure, untouched nature is a therapeutic balm that promotes physical revitalization. Namely, climatotherapy, i.e. the application of climatic healing factors of a particular area, is not unknown for the purpose of prevention, physical regeneration and rehabilitation.
Mountainous areas are characterized clean air with a high oxygen concentration, and staying in this area, among other things, facilitates breathing, speeds up metabolism, improves heart function, increases hemoglobin levels, has a beneficial effect on the nervous system and respiratory organs. Only, for example, exposure to fresh, quality air stimulates blood circulation and strengthens the body. It is even recommended for heart, respiratory and mental problems, rheumatism, etc.
The Gorski Kotar region and its preserved nature influence the elimination of toxins from the body, and along with rest, good times and precious effects on the body, it represents the simplest and most pleasant Detox for the organism that removes stress and its accumulated consequences. Climatic zones of Gorski kotar they include the lowland part of the Kupska Valley from about 200 meters above sea level and the high altitude parts of the middle and high mountains, up to above 1500 meters above sea level.
Goranska food bomb
Local food and local drinks after an active day spent in nature are an opportunity to rest and reminisce about some past times. The detox nature of Gorski Kotar is rounded off by a nutritional bomb that the restaurants of Gorski took care of.
As part of the initiative Gastroventure à la Gorski kotar through their menus, they prepare dishes based on seasonal, nutritionally high-value foods from Goran's natural treasure. In the September issue Gastroventure à la Gorski Kotar, a delicious gourmet adventure, you can enjoy dishes made from, among other things, wild porcini mushrooms, blackberries, apples, deer meat, fresh Goranian greens and koromada (yellow boat).
Gorani deer steaks with cranberries
The recipe is signed by Konoba Volta, Fužine
Ingredients for 4 people:
- 1 kg of deer ham
- 2 cloves garlic
- 50 g of smooth flour
- 2 g sweet, ground red pepper
- 0,5 dcl of vegetable oil
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt and pepper as desired
- 3 dcl of water
- 1 dcl of white wine
The leg of a mountain deer is cleaned of veins and cut into steaks. Garlic leaves are beaten into steaks and then rolled in flour. Bake in heated oil to get a golden-yellow color. After that, they are arranged in a pan, salted and peppered as desired. Sweet, ground red pepper is added. Drizzle with water, add the bay leaf and cook until the steaks soften. Finally, 1 dcl of white wine is added. All together boil for another 5 minutes. It is served with cranberry jam and baked croquettes prepared from Gorski Kotar potatoes.
