Nature is all around us, but sometimes we don't appreciate it enough. But Srijem, in the east of Lijepa naše, is a place where this rarely happens. Nature is particularly beautiful, and people still live connected to it. Here, those who like to spend their weekend or vacation in nature will find plenty of opportunities for a good time and true relaxation.
Bicycling
The walk is great, but the bike is the real thing! Route Srijem will give keen cyclists the opportunity to tour the entire easternmost county on two-wheeled pets, as it passes through settlements, forests, fields and vineyards, while not ignoring the numerous tourist attractions listed on the map. And don't worry, it's not demanding, it still gets through the famous plain.
For that, we are sure, those who are a little less fit will be truly grateful, while those who regularly go to work by bicycle will enjoy riding without traffic jams and honking horns of nervous drivers. Choose the part of the route that appeals to you the most and go on a cycling adventure. And don't forget, you can always stop and refuel with great local cuisine.
Bird watching
While this is not an activity that can be done automatically in society, it may still be best for beginners not to go bird watching alone. We don’t think you’ll get lost in the woods in search of birds, but if you don’t have hours and hours of experience sneaking through the woods and thickets, it might occur to you to give up this wonderful hobby that has a great effect on the body (lots of walking) and the spirit (lots of patience).
In addition, it is pleasant and convenient, if you are a beginner, to check whether you have correctly identified the bird you are observing. Riding
Horses are present in all Croatian regions, but nowhere are they loved and popular as in Srijem in which it operates a number of equestrian clubs and associations. Experienced riders will undoubtedly spend hours in the beautiful nature of this region. Beginners will know how to appreciate the love and patience with which the associations will teach them to see nature and these wonderful animals from a completely new perspective. If you don't feel like walking or riding a bike, and your conscience hurts when you drive a car on vacation, choose horseback riding - the best way to get around this area.
Boat ride
If you don't want to move, sail! The Danube is a beautiful river and to reach it without sailing on it would be a real sin. Would you like to experience a ride on the Danube on smaller boats or traditional Vukovar boats? chicory, members of the Vukovar Moto-Nautical Club Sv. Bono will be happy to take you on this adventure, and from them you will certainly learn something more about life along the Danube and the fishing tradition in Vukovar. Fishing
With so many rivers and the mythical Danube, it would be strange if fishing wasn't one of the favorite ways to spend time in nature in this area. It even works in Srijem 51 sport-fishing association, and they are the only ones in Croatia that dominate the two rivers: the Sava and the Danube. You can fish for carp, catfish, perch, pike and bream. You may also find indigenous species such as bream, bream, tench and real crucian carp on your hook.
It is a special experience to fish in Sources, leads to a stagnant water into which the water from Spačva flows. You can fish from the shore to your heart's content, but if you go fishing by boat, know that you must have an ecological engine and pass an exam. And don't forget to buy a fishing license.
