"Tradizione a Tavola" - enjoy Istrian seafood delicacies

If you miss the flavors of perfectly prepared brodet, head to Istria. Namely, this year's autumn edition of the gourmet event "Tradizione a tavola: viècie riciète da màr" is dedicated to this traditional dish made from several types of fish and vegetables.

This unique gourmet event will take place from October 15 to 29 in the area of ​​Rovinj and Vrsar. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy many delicious indigenous seafood delicacies prepared in the traditional way.

All the charms of the local culinary heritage will be found at specially designed menus of restaurants and taverns, which highlight the authentic sea pearls of Istrian cuisine. This year's star and theme of this unique gourmet event is brodet. It is a traditional dish that connects different types of fish and symbolizes the community's deep connection with the sea, history and culture.

For most Istrians, brodet is more than a deliciously prepared dish - it is a true experience prepared with love and respect for the sea and its gifts, shared with family and friends, and reminds us of the values ​​we cherish. Its preparation vividly illustrates the sustainable way of using fish and fruits of the Adriatic Sea, contributing to the preservation of biological diversity and the health of the marine ecosystem. In addition, brodet is a living part of cultural heritage and a centuries-old fishing tradition that respects nature and its rhythm. It uses local resources in a responsible way and encourages solidarity in the community, among people.

In addition to brodet, as the main dish, the menus will also include an appetizer and a dessert. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste sardines on savory, octopus salad with beans, salted anchovies with red onion, cuttlefish stewed with mashed potatoes and prawns on mascarpone cream with chilly oil. Local wines will be served with the dishes, which go perfectly with the flavors of traditional seafood dishes.
