Kilauea Volcano (Hawaii, USA)

The Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park is one of the 58 national parks of the United States of America and is considered the most attractive park in America. Located on the island of Hawaii, the park includes the Kilauea volcanoes, one of the most active volcanoes in the world, as well as Mauna Loa, the largest volcano in the world.
These volcanoes provide scientists with an insight into the formation of the Hawaiian Islands and enchant visitors with the magnificent scenes of the volcanic soil. Years 1980 the park was declared an international biosphere reserve, and In 1987, it was entered on the UNESCO list world heritage site, which further highlights its importance and natural values.

Kilauea and Halemaumau calderas have always been considered sacred places among the native people, especially as the home of the volcano goddess, Pele. Hawaiian visitors regularly came to the crater, bearing various gifts as a sign of respect. During an extremely powerful eruption in 1790, tragedy befell a group of warriors, along with their wives and children, who perished. Their traces left in the form of footprints in the lava are still visible today, testifying to this painful event from the past.
Kilauea, a volcano located east of the active volcano Mauna Loa on the island of Hawaii, with a height of 1.247 meters, is considered one of the largest and most active volcanoes in the world. With a caldera circumference of approximately 13 kilometers, Kilauea has been continuously active since 1983, and the year 2018 was marked by a series of explosions, earthquakes and intense lava flows, which accompanied the ejection of ash and toxic gases. Within the caldera, Halemaumau Crater was home to a lake of glowing lava between 2008 and 2018, and has been reactivated since 2020, further refreshing its volcanic importance. The volcano erupted again this year when 250 earthquakes shook this area.
