WINTER OASIS – a three-day research military camp for children who want more. And who can handle more. Because this is not a game. This is an adventure that cuts to the bone. We are done. Drained to the last drop of sweat and energy. EVERYONE. To one. 45 soldier researchers in the heart of Gorski Kotar, in the wilderness of Fužine and forests that swallow you up if you are not ready. And we were ready. And now we can tell you – you would not believe what we experienced.
Some situations are a military secret. Some things we couldn't even explain. They are supernatural and are almost never experienced, not even then. And if we tried, you would just look at us blankly. You would be surprised, ridiculed, and told that we were exaggerating, and very quickly put in a madhouse. But we know. What we have experienced cannot be told. It must be experienced.
When kids are hungry, they're not fed by sandwiches, they're fed by adrenaline.
They arrived from all over Croatia. Little warriors. Little explorers. Kids who don't dream of cell phones, games, and other digital poison of the 21st century, but of wilderness, danger, and real action. They couldn't wait. Backpacks full of equipment – knives, saws, sticks for forest self-defense… But it's not that simple. The major immediately took everything from them. Because the rules are clear – you first earn discipline, and only then use the tools.
Chaos has begun.
The guns were burning.
Song, marches, masked faces, dirty and torn clothes, bodies covered in mud. Locals in shock.
– What is this?! The war has started?!
– We've never seen anything like this before!
The tourist board comes out, the director looks on and just gives us a sign. Conquer the wilderness. And we did it.
The rules at camp are clear – you're either in or you're not.
The wilderness became ours. We explored, built bases, crawled, climbed, hid, ran, negotiated with the enemy, trained until we were exhausted. Wet to the skin, frozen, muddy, but never stronger. Surrounded by various harsh situations, we learned how to help a friend in need, to be honest, how to hug, listen to someone who has a problem, how not to give up, how to fight when others would have stopped long ago.
Because this camp is not for mommy's cuddles
This is not a place for kids who shiver in the rain and mud. This is not for those who tremble at ghost stories. This is not for those who prefer to suck their thumbs in front of their cell phones and similar gadgets that are actually something phenomenal but are consumed in the wrong way. This is for those who want more. Who don't want fairy tales. Who know that the world isn't always fair, but that strength and perseverance conquer all.
The summer oasis is coming. On a deserted island. Are you ready?
WINTER OASIS was just the first mission. A little bit, to warm up and have fun again. Next? SUMMER OASIS. On a deserted island. Far from everyone. Far from signal. Far from safety. Just you, your team and the wilderness.
